Any ideas folkj, i broke down las week and was bought home by GFlag (shame faced). My GT ground to a halt. so far have checked fuel tap its ok fuel pump is working, fuel filter and lines replaced just in case, carb removed cleaned checked all ok float height spot on, new coil lead plugcap fitted as well as new plug.
cdi unit removed and checked out by local dealer all ok.
imobaliser checked and code airiel checked ok.
stator and pick up removed.checked out all ok.
Bike starts on the button ticks over superb but thats it will not rev just pops and bangs.
after 50 years of scooting and biking and doing me own repairs im stumped.
any ideas or happy pills woudl be great. many thanks.
ps checked exaust is clear ok,and air filter has been replaced.

if immobilisers activated ,they will start but not rev ,so not sure about the misfires . i think i'd start by going through the re-coding key rigmarole with master key first .from memory its put in red master key ,turn on for 3-5 secs ,turn off an remove ,insert black normal key turn on for 3-5 secs an then turn off . blacks got to go in within 20 secs of master key .then turn on an start an see if it will rev .its described in haynes manual which i havent to hand right now so thats just by memory . after that its 1 by 1 checking/cleaning an re-making electrical connections on ignition an fuelling if fuel injected .as modern piaggios have got more complicated the electronics an electrics have become a weak spot .with condensation an corroded connections causing loads of grief .H

yes, rarely , thats why theres a master red key your supposed to keep safe an a usable black key for everday use . not sure, but dont think theve a battery like remote keys ,just a coded micro-chip thats read by the immobiliser an aerial. could only suffer damage from a lightning strike/use as a fuse?/electrical discharge across it . as i said rarely .
