Hi been lurking on here for several months now and decided to join properly. Had a fifty special thirty years ago then a few bikes, but the force was always strong in this one and last year bought a px200 on an 03 plate. As a guy who used to get a mechanic to clean the ashtrays out on my car, I am enjoying learning the joys of tinkering about on a two stroke. At the moment the engine is out a new piston arrived and the barrel will be getting honed this/ next week. I'm sure I will have many questions to ask the yodas of the forum in the coming days/weeks.

Welcome! It's so refreshing to see an enthusiastic new member. Remember though; she will let you down, cost you a fortune, and you will grow to wonder why you were drawn back to this hopeless quest to beat the inevitable. However, you might just love it too, like some of us here manage to do! Get her fixed up and enjoy! ...lots of questions, lots of pics, you're in the right place - ask away..................

Bought her in October and had a heat seizure soon after on the motorway . So engine is out piston was scored . Would the most likely cause of seizure be air leak at head or exhaust. New Sip road 2 just arrived aswell. Don't know how to post photos but I'll learn that also. !

There's more people read the tech section than the intro, so post a technical question there, mate. Your seize could be due to an air leak, or your jetting; bet that was fun, honking up the motorway. You'll be upjeting anyway for the Sip Road 2, (depending on what you had before) so do a tech post to get more advice, say what you have now, what happened, what was your plug like? is barrel OK? - Some pics is easy enough to post if you read here: vespa.proboards.com/thread/4282/quick-guide-posting-photos-photobucketThe piston can give clues about the type (cause) of seize too; have a little look here - I was told mine was more like blow-by due to worn rings, which ties in with the photo at the bottom here, and how my piston looked at the time. www.smellofdeath.com/lloydy/piston_diag_guide.htmMight as well get it set up right before you give it another spanking!
