on my log book under chassis number it just has the 4 digits that is between the stars, my mot man was telling me he had bother with my mot last year because his system would no except less than 6 digits, should the prefix be on the log book ? for instance vsx1t then the number?

they often dont put the pre-fix on v5's , ya mot-er needs to use either the last 2 digits in pre-fix or 2 zero's to make it up to six .ive had trouble before on my car as it was 1st entered on the computer with 6 numbers then CV ,for convertible, which is on the body-plate . later mot-ers tried to just enter the number an system wouldnt accept it . on modern px's theres upto 13 digits ,mostly a string of zeros followed by 4-6 numbers ,my mot-ers a bit lazy so with mates px he just enters enough zero's to get 6 digits .so am guessing just adding 2 zeros should get you on the system, but you'll have to remember what ya did for future mot's .H

the vsx1e never worked, the tester just put a * at the start and end of numbers and the mot certificate just shows the 4 engine numbers, really should contact dvla about this but giving my history of 8 month trying to register my vespa i think i will give it a miss.
