hi n welcome , posting in the tech section will probs get more answers ,but, if ya mean your pulling up in 3rd/4th an it wont go to 1st easyily to pull away .thats a feature of a vespa gearbox , slip clutch momentarily to spin the gears an it should select 1st easily .if ya mean it wont go down the gears as ya running ,a quick rev off the throttle with clutch in to match engine speed to road speed for the gear your going for will help it select .like double de-clutching in a old car/lorry sort of thing . Exactly the same on my PX when I brought it new in 2014 , 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd absolute cruncher ( felt like summat was going to sheer off)... I kept returning and going ape sh1t at the dealer , they fitted fit new clutch plates then a complete clutch ,a new cush drive etc etc etc , 6 weeks on and off with losing the scoot and they eventually got a piaggio technician to examine the bike at the dealers and he said it's normal to crunch badly between the gears , I got a extra years Piaggio warranty (3 Years from new) for the 6 weeks i'd been without the bike over a few month period ... So I just learned to put up with it and drive it like i'd stole it and have racked up 13,000+kms on it in 18 mths and still have the extra 3rd year of warranty to cover anything that knackers on it ...
