I wheeled my scooter out earlier today and used the front brake, it works fine but there seems to be a grinding noise coming from it? I haven't been out on it since the end of November. I did clean it and dried it off, it was still a little damp though maybe it hasn't dried enough and its rusted?

Give it a quick blast, chances are its just surface "fur" if its still making a noise after a couple of normal braking it could need investigating further..it a disc model ?

as dj says ,probably surface rust that will clean up soon as you use it , tho it an brake shoe dust will build up in the drum an can cause squealing/screeching noises, if its a disc it could be a trapped stone ,or worn out pads ,you cant really see them to inspect without removing the rim . H

Pushed it around using the front brake held in slightly and there's a squeak coming from it as well as the grinding sound
