just got in to vespas would like to know what type of oil I should use ive got a 57 150 motor Personal preference is for fully-synthetic, as that's what the guy who sold me the scoot used. And someone did tell me to choose a brand and stick with it, though I'm not sure what the resasoning behind that is. There's loads on the market, mate; Castrol, Rock etc, not hard to pick up

a 57 vespa was designed to be used with mineral based 2 stroke oil , an sae30 gearbox oil . on untuned engines most use semi-synthetic 2 stroke . its a personal preference thing .i go with whatevers cheapest/on offer on my daily hack ,mostly b&q/wickes/halfords lawnmower oil ,an semi on my tuned motors . the gearbox oils same as is used in lawnmower engines ,so wickes builders merchants or local garden centre about 6 quid a litre .
