Nothing personally, to risky building up an engine using one of unknown history IMO, you don't want to be doing a second rebuild. New cranks are not expensive.

Guy is saying he put malosi kit on, has barrel and head as well, pretty sure a crank is around £140-160 oem.

No sure what you mean gaz, the guy said he upgraded to 225cc malosi kit and these were the parts that were replaced, i was first bidder on the crank and on the barrel together with head, you guys put me off so i never put a maxium bid in but no one else has bid.

Thing is even if it was perfect before, you don't know how carefully he removed it, if he was upgrading to another crank, he probably wouldn't have bothered much about how he took the old one out.. Just not worth the saving vs the risk of it being scrap and you having to do the job over again IMO

Whats his feedback, how many sales etc. If your happy with price go for it, people have an itch to shop and upgrade, which means cheap parts for us and fat wallets for scooter shop owners. If your worried about parts take em down scooter club for a second opinion, or get a vespa mechanic to look em over. Find someone who has a jig to check crank if u like. If i was loaded id listen an by new, otherwise muddle along like everyone else.

Vespa motorsport u tube channel goes into depth about what to look for on cranks. Worn key slots etc and shows truing jig., from what you say id give it a punt. If hes loaded i dought hed bother selling parts that he knows are rubbish, why bother with hassle.

no one else bid on these and i have bought barrel, head and crank, got them all together for £49 delivered, exchanged a few messages with the seller and he has told me i have nothing to worry about, said if he never upgraded then the parts would still be on his engine getting used, im still a bit paranoid about using the second hand crank for reasons mentioned above but will decide later, defo use the barrel and head so the crank never really cost me anything.

stock bearings are skf ,made in india so ya can get a full kit for about £30 on e bay , oil seals go stock nitrile black ones or if feeling richer blue corteco's .VE(uk) for gasket kits ,cheap ones never fit right an can give problems .not sure if they stock stock 1's but "mototime2012" on fleabay in italys been doing cheap/decent piston kits recently . browns viton , if ya go on simply bearings or bearing solutions webpage, cant remember which , theve a drop down showing compatibility , vitons good for temp range but only just tolerates ethanol . as you can never tell how much ethanols in ya fuel why risk it . sip are just buying sfk from india in bulk n putting a % on top . go to the source ,but be sure an buy genuine sfk , c3 clearance bearing on the clutch side , c1 for rest .
