Glad the cosa gears are cleared up H I always thought that at least the loose gears were the same. Cheers. Ok. So its not so clean. I did actually start to properly clean it (with petrol) the other week but only got to do the chassis behind the side panels and a bit at the back. There's still loads of insects to scrape off the front. Even the cheapo chrome legshield trim looks 1/2 shiny, where in reality they have a lot of surface rust on them. I may even get round to fitting the original trim one day, which ive painted in grey hammerite as they were so rusty. More to preserve them than anything else. Not so sure how it will look tho'. I fitted an 'adapted' cheapo phone holder the other day, so i can use the sat nav feature. Works well and only cost about £2 pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=391192483580&alt=webHeres some pics Fitted
4mm bolt drilled throughnchassis! Shock horror!!
I used one section of the tripod legs. i drilled a hole through the middle of it to take the bolt. To keep the holder from vibrating loose I used some silicone/gasket cement I also slotte in a 28mm wide pice of pastic to stop the phone from falling out. I didnt fancy relying only on the spring system. No problems after a 200 mile round trip and it didnt shake or move or fall off or.....etc

At the storage-cum-workshop lock-up i used to rent, where i originally restored my Rally, i had, literally within 5 metres of me, a shotblasters/powder coaters, who would have done it as a favour/very cheap but i still dared not destroy it by shot/bead blasting. Rust-o-leum was the answer for me. At the same place, the young guy working there at the time was a ship hot car body sprayer from Oz land, working his way round the country. He sprayed an ET3 i restored for £80 + paint thinners etc! Bargain! After
Before At the same place, a few lock ups away i met a guy with about 4 SS180s and another lock up full off spares! Oh go on then, my old SS180. What a lovely rear end Ive discovered more vespa forums of late, cheers H I must have a good look at them!

I miss my SS180 too. I sold it last year after owning and riding it since 1988! That was hard to let go i can tell ya! It made such a great noise too.
Apparently, thats a Devon/Cornwall area reg and it slowly made its way to up to sunny Lowestoft from where I bought it. Rode it home. Broke down. AA van back home.
Its had a few owners over the years so maybe someone, somewhere remembers it?
