Hi All, I have an issue with my P150, when you put the choke in it loses power then cuts out, I have cleaned the mainjet thinking this would solve it but it still does it, anyone had this and got any other ideas?
Thanks Mick

blocked pilot jet ,or air leak under carb , or just crud in carb blocking the pilot circuit , H

Thanks, I cleaned all jets and there was some crud in the float chamber but I cleaned it, it is still doing it so I may have to completely remove the carb and fit a new gasked and do a complete clean. Would you suggest this as the next step? Cheers

maybe , but a carb clean n re-gasket/seal 1st eh , not all are like me n thee ,never happy til scoots in a hundred bits spread over the shed , what guru says makes sense , a scoot runnin on choke only, means a weak mix , often a blocked pilot but otherwise its sucking air in somewhere it shouldnt , extra fuel from choke compensates this ,re-torque head aswell in case its a blow/suck there , if the "simples" dont cure it , pressure test or as i would split cases n re-seal/gasket it , but then i'm only happy when elbow deep in some engine , sheddites rule , but skate punks "cool" , H

Thanks for the advice, will start with the carb then move on to a strip down. It's a new engine so I wasnt expecting grief....

Aaah ,new lump eh ,was it re-torqued at 500 miles ,as new builds settle in/loosen up . re-torque the head nuts/cases/an carb an your problem could disappear, H

It hasn't done 5 miles yet as it doing this on first start up, I ran it to see if it was just a bedding in issue but even when hot, it is doing it. I think strip down, re check everything and rebuild initially, groan.....

5 miles , jesus thats a grotbag , my moneys swinging behind pxguru ,an particulary a displaced gasket on assembly or accidently reversed seal , weve all done it ,just most wont admit , my usual 1 is put cases together then see kicker cog or spring on the floor ,DOH , an ive a mate who's managed to assemble the same engine twice with piston reversed .he was about to drop kick his barrel as being "made wrong" when i spotted it , double DOH,H
