Hello! I shall start by saying that I have never worked on or owned a Vespa before so this is all new to me. I have mostly worked on old Minis and even then I avoided electrical/wiring work like the plague!
The story here is, this is my friends Vespa that was a victim of an attempted theft (that's South London for you!) and he's passed it onto me to fix allowing my girlfriend to ride it after I've made the necessary repairs. Although there doesn't seem to be too much damage, I'm still not entirely sure where to go.
It is a 2009 S125 and prior to the damage, worked and ran fine. the horn panel was ripped off, (seeking a replacement in white) and evidently some wire pulled about and now it won't even turn over. Absolutely no power at all. Now clearly this will be a power cable problem somewhere in the circuit but from all I can see, there is a wire pulled out of it's connector, but for the life of me I have no idea what this connector plugged into. I have only seen the scoot for a few mins as it's in my friends lock-up now, and took a few pictures as below. I have not tinkered with it at all yet. I have ordered a workshop manual and it is on its way but wondered if anyone on here was guru enough to be able to tell me what I may possibly need to do /buy in order to get her going again.

I take it that it's an auto? I'm not particularly up to date with those, but I do know that they tend to have an immobiliser that can be activated by removing parts of the wiring. I'd guess that's a part of, if not all of, your problem

as sbwnik says , a 2009 auto has probably a immobiliser ,but if thats triggered scoot shud still start just not rev past tickover , did the scoot have more than 1 key with it ,a red 1 n upto 2 black keys , the reds the master key , am trying to remember but it goes like this ,re-connect wiring n make sure batterys got life . stick red key in an turn on for 2 seconds ,turn off an within 10 secs stick black/blue key in an on for 2 secs , repeat for all black keys ,when blacks are done within 10 secs stick red master back in an turn on for 2 secs ,turn off n immobilisers re-programmed n matched to all keys . if youve not got a red key a piaggio dealer charges bout £300 to to replace n re-programme the whole system , but ive heard of a scoot shop/guy doin it for £75 in "sarf london" , will try n look up where . another thing thatcatches out people unfamiliar with autos is you need to pull a brake lever in before tryin to start them , theres a safety relay system that disables the starter/ignition , so without brakes on the scoot wont start ,rev n runaway with ya . As another thought , perhaps you have to hold one of the brake levers in to start it ?.....I'm sure I had to do that on my old bandit600...or it may have been my sons piaggio 50...
