nice ,has some of the look of a far eastern resto, the extra bling ,single seats ,covered in leather are they , an the "faro-basso" low-light style which is much earlier than 1969 , if its been here for 9 years any bodges would of shown by now so looks like ya got a good scoot there , H

Thanks for the positive comments, (and the help with pix Sime!) I've been trying to fill the gaps in its history, it is from Vietnam but in quite tidy condition, a few knocks and dinks from the previous owner trailering it around etc! But solid. The Eastern bling will be coming off as it seems a trademark style for them but a bit tacky for my eye. Love the colour and early 50's Faro Basso style, going back to a previous comment of Henri's, it makes sense that it was built 1969 using old Piaggio tooling which would have been sent there by then to build under licence(?) I don't think it's been used on the road much over here (yet!) previous owner registered it and used it but before him I think it was on show in a house in the Edinburgh area! Was thinking of changing the headset to an early sixties style with inbuilt headlight and speedo, (keeping the lowlight though) or would this spoil look? As at the mo i haven't got a clue how fast it's doing!

even with a working speedo you wont , either use gps ,or my technique , jump off an count the bounces , vespa speedos are only good for making you dizzy watching the needle bounce around . by the time youve averaged out the high/low readings your speeds changed anyway , an thats when they work .H
