hi all,
when kicking over the old girl yesterday on the second kick i heard a clunk and the kick start has now dropped a couple of inches. i have checked to see if it has slipped around the spindle but it hasnt so can only assume it has jumped a couple of teeth inside. will this require taking the entire engine out to put right or can this be done with the engine still in the bike?
cheers
Hully

Fingers crossed its just a knackered kick quadrant rubber buffer Normally its the teeth on the soft ali kick start that shred off. Best of luck

Cheers for that H and all. rode it after the incident as had a meeting so traveled with both ears trained for any unusual noises and all seemed ok. will take it to my mate at the weekend to look at. Is it a simple enough job to whip the side casing off or will it need a few hours to do. only transport i have at the minute!!

it can be straight forward , but seldom is , well with my luck that is , be prepared n have a gasket set ,kickstart buffers n fly seal an some gear oil , an dont poke around lookin for anything else whilst ya there an it could be done in a day easy , H
