Picking up my first scooter today, a black 2002 PX 125. I'll try and post a photo later, also what's the Haynes manual like, worth getting?
Thanks Richie.

Hey there, good work, getting the scoot, yes the Haynes manual is a pretty reasonable one to own, not as in depth as some, but if you are after basic maintainence, and how-to on general repairs, it's pretty good, if, later on you want to get into tuning and modifications, ( which you will!) there are plenty of great books, and online info, and of course, the guys on here are full of great nuggets of information too, get the Haynes, learn all you can, then when you are more confident, get something a bit more tuning orientated.

Welcome to scootering, and our forum. Photos always welcome. Definitely get Haynes, also the Sausage DVDs are highly recommended; you’ll enjoy it a lot more if you have a basic understanding and knowledge of maintenance, trouble-shooting, and repairs and you’ll keep the garage bills down with some basic tools and knowledge. After that you can get a hands-on-and-dirty as you like…………!!

How easy it it to over fill the oil, didn't leave any room for the cap to go in! Must have looked very silly trying to clean up the mess at the petrol station!!

Gazpx lmao! I guess you must use the same petrol station as me! She'd need the lube to get the jeans on?

That's what I thought but a week later it still has a little drop. I'll clean it all up on my day off and try and see where it's coming from

Hi Montana welcome to the group Not been here long myself and had loads of help from these guys I was in exactly same situation as you 2002 px125 first scoot:) I traced my oil leak to the connector at bottom of oiltank it was loose The petrol tank has to come out but it's easy if you have the Haynes You need a long long socket to get to nut inside oil filler tube (I bridged one up from a standard socket size17mm I think)
ButDONT OVER TIGHTEN THE NUT -/ the connector breaks very easily (or so I'm told cough cough)
Once I nipped mine up I added a load of sealant to be sure
Good luck
