at 15.00 quid a set there cheap eh , even without a speedo cable , as your scoots not that old your outers are probably still ok so you'll probably just rob the inners out off them as you need em ,still works out cheaper than buying individual inners , i think i'd go with the friction free set as there same price , tho i cant think of any difference in cables between brake light models n earlier 1's that dont matter to you as your not needing that cable , can i put my name down as 1st dibs on the unused front brake cable , H

I'll be picking a set up this week as I live near the shop , I'll send you a message when I've got them and forward the cable to you f.o.c ...
I just hope they're labelled up what's what as I've never done a cable before hehe ... Cheers for advice fella

there not labeled i'm afraid , the accel 1 has a nipple each end , the rear brakes loads thicker an has a end to take a pin , the gears are thinnest an have smallest nipples , sometimes the clutch cable has a c on the nipple ,but clutch n front brake have same size nipple but the clutch is the longer one ,ok, thats how i sort em, just be glad where not in speedo cable territory , different lengths/fixings an threads , an a warning ,if you decide to change gear outers piaggio has very thoughtfully clipped them together inside the frame ,so youve got to do both together , makes it "so much more fun" that way ,H

Picked the set up today ... Thanks for the advice on which cables are which etc...
I take it the front brake one is the bottom cable (top left) with a joint 2nd cable about 6" from the nipple ? if so just pm me your addy mate and I'll chuck it in the post

erm am guessing yes , that must be for the brake light switch i guess , have never owned/worked on a drum brake px with front brake light switch so am afraid its no good to me , stick it in the for sale section ,somebod else on here will get more use out of it ,i'd just add it to the "useful sumday/maybe spares stash" an that cupboard cant really take any more , H

Older PXs have no front brake light, so the cable is one-piece; newer ones have a two-piece cable for the switch. It was another difference I noticed between the two options you listed in your first question, and I was going to make the point, but then realised it didn’t matter because you have a disk brake, and the friction-free were the ones to get, which H said. That and the speedo cable are items to take care of when buying a set of cables. Just as H mentions it, I did a thread on pulling the pair of outer clipped-together gear cables through the body; I don’t imagine you’ll want or need to with a newish scooter, but if you do my thread is here: vespa.proboards.com/thread/4105/pulling-gear-cables-body…shows that nasty clip that Piaggio put there just to spoil your Saturday morning! Do you need to clear out your bulging cupboards, H? – I’m just about to do a Beedspeed and SIP order to finish the shopping for my engine build…………………

No worries; it was a tongue-in-cheek comment really - I also hang on to everything, got spares of me spares. It's only Odds and Sods anyway - about £30 with each and I'm done; it's been pretty good pickings on Ebay and FB for the last six months really. (Oh plus seals and bearings, but I need to find an hour one evening to re-check that first; probably add it to SIP).
