hi everyone i'll do my best to describe my problem i think i know the answer just wanted to double check see your thoughts opinions i put a hole in my kickstart side casing on 1 scoot dunno how but be reit give me something to do in my time off from work needed a rebuild too so i decided to transplant my fun engine from my unfinnished project i've built into my scoot to keep me on rd. the engine is a pinasco 177 big bore kit matched casing 60mm cut crank 28mm phb carb with and fat scoot rs pipe.
1st problem it used to idle fine when kicked over and prior to running but teeth on kick start have worn and it slips so need to bump it and doesn't seem to wanna idle no more, any ideas why?
2nd problem is when opening the throttle up too quick from a standing start or open too much when bumping it doesnt wanna set off its sluggish and wants to cut out, as well as de-accelerating letting of the revs when slowing down a very similar symptom happens. would this be flooding of the engine? this is my 1st thought.
maybe my main jet too high? i cant remember off top of my head how carb set i was given a rough jetting from my local scoot shop to try and was told if too rich change needle position, so maybe my needle position wrong?
im not so good with phb carbs 1st time trying one so any tips be greatly appreciated, si carbs seem alot easier to set up. it runs really well when running but not setting off or slowing down or idleing lol. i can open it up it responds well. seems quite fast not that i wouldnt know how fast as my speedo dosent work. not that there very reliable nor i had the balls to open it up all way yet too. plug colour not so bad slightly rich with 3% premix
i'm guessing its flooding probably main jet too big for the 2nd problem and it maybe linked to the 1st problem too any help opinions rthoughts be greatly appreciated
thanks
jon
