Hold. ..I have recently adjusted the idle screw on my vespa after it was constantly cutting out at idle. It seems that the screw is Loosening itself through vibrations. Any advice on how to fix it...?.

Replacing the spring will sort it not sure if you can buy it seperate tho .It's only a few quid for a new screw it should come with the spring

If youre really desperate you could use any spring that fits so long as its under enough compression to hold the threads tight Check youve not unscrewed it so far that the spring is not under compression, although your tick over/idle should tell you where it needs to be. It may also be worth checking your idle jet is not blocked (blow out with compressed air) Or it may simply be you need to adjust/tighten the idle adjustment screw that sticks out the top of the carb air filter box.

If it is the tickover screw that sticks out of the top of carb that you are on about , I cured mine from winding itself out by using a small rubber grommet ( in an assorted pack from Halfrauds)in the carb hole. It gives just enough grip to stop the screw turning , but not enough to hinder adjustment

the carb box top should have a top hat shaped grommet ,but as above mickymidas says a halfords 1 will do, H
