I'd quite like a fast flow tap that works like a piaggio stock tap but delivering more fuel.
Ive tried 2 x BGM FF and when they hit reserve (which is quite soon), i suffer fuel starvation. Whats more it took a long long time for the fuel to cut back in when it reached reserve level. So long that, this one time, at band camp, i was going 60mph, had to switch to reserve but came to a halt before fuel reached the carb again!! Stock Piaggio taps takes literally 1 or 2 seconds.
Ive been looking at the leak prone SIP FF. They are very much like the stock tap in design, which could be the answer!!??
Questions:
1) What is it with the SIP taps that made them leak?
2) And what would i need to do to make sure it doesnt happen?
3) Which part of the tap did they leak from?
4) Has anybody had good or bad experiences with the SIP tap?
5) Anybody else had the same issues with the BGM?

ive not used them but the rep is that they never really shut off ,not that they leak as in spilling fuel inside frame , if memorys workin your runnin a cosa carb top n needle valve so a sip tap shouldnt give you any grief , but saying that on the cut-down i bought theres a i think sip tap , with a low fuel sender/2 wires ,tanks sat in my shed for a month now an no fuels leaked out , so maybe the rep is from the older/original sip 1's an theve improved the design nowadays , H

Can't really answer your question but I have sip taps on 2 of my scoots, neither shut the fuel off totally which is a right pain when you need to remove a carb or tank, I'd certainly not buy another one.

I ordered a SIP FF tap. Pulled it apart. Checked what i could. The rubber seal looked to fit ok. Checked for leaks etc. I left it for an hour before i finally fitted the tank. I had to bend the breather a little for it to fit in the tank. It could be cut too. I was just lazy. And very careful, as the breather pipe is very thin/delicate. Went for a spin So far so good! Time will tell if it wont turn off. More importantly.... I think its solved my problem !!

Sounds like you got a good one, both mine leaked from day one but I never bothered to check the internals, just expected them to work as they should out the box!
