Hi all this my first post so forgive me if I go on ......anyway I have a 2011 fly 125 that's behaving weird .story today is its been running fine I did around 50 miles to and from my boat moorings In Shoreham and back a few time back to Brighton .anyway decided to fill her up using some fuel I had in a jerrycan which I had filled up on Saturday (same Jerry can that was on my boat which I've just brought this is mixed with a small amount of oil but the can was empty when I filled it up ) anyway I filled the tank up and started the moped up and it seemed ok apart from when I throttled a little bit it seems to loose power and stall each time I restarted it it would tick over and slowly idle slower and slower and the. Justt stall on me for no reason I'm now finding it near impossible to turn over it just won't Fire up although it sounds like it's trying .any ideas where to start on this ? I'm not a expert on repairing mopeds it willing to try .could it be had fuel ? As it was fine until I put this fuel In ?? I did mix a few litres in the tank earlier this week using the same fuel and its been ok so far ??anyway I'm rambling on now any advice be great

yep 2 stroke in a 4 stroke ,probably oiled up the plug pretty quick, drain n refresh the fuel ,also drain the carb an put a new plug in is best way to start , if that doesnt improve things i'd move on to cleaning the carb out an checking other things, but as problem started with new fuel thats ya most likely culprit , H

Thanks for all the advice the Jerry can was empty when I filled it up with fresh fuel so I can't imagine that being the issue possibly has traces of oil in can but nothing to cause symptoms as what mine is showing .anyway I'm leaning towards the carb or possibly a fuel pump issue?? Have contacted my usual repair shop but there unable to look at it until Wednesday .anyone willing to look at it for me ?im in Brighton thanks

i'm part of the "Dean Massive" myself , hollingdean to the uninitiated , but am off away to play triumphs for the weekend an back monday , who's ya normal guy , cd scoots or the guy along seafront ,lpg or 3 initials anyway , my auto experience is mostly with pre-leader engines , an first flys didnt have a pump, laters an prob your 2011 does have a electric pump, you should hear a relay click on when ignitions turned on then the pump clicking for 10-15 seconds as it primes the carb , after that its intermittent at low revs as the fuel demands low. theres also a filter in the line that could get clogged by any residue 2 stroke/dirt in the gerry can , you can pop the fuel line off the carb n put end in a jam jar turn on ignition an see how much is delivered in 30 secs , half a jam jars or more is fine .
