Hello ,wondering if anyone can help ,I've been given the chance to buy a p125 1980 the only thing is it hasn't got frame number or engine number ,he will give a receipt with it though, is it worth it ,what would I have to do about getting it legal/on the road thanks paul

trouble , an then some , unless its dirt cheap, as in sub what you can get from breaking it an sellin as parts an theres a damm good story to where numbers went an you know sellers strictly legal i'd walk away , the engine might have replacement cases as they come unnumbered ,an frame could of been cut or sandblasted badly an lost numbers that way . but most likely explaination is its knicked , is there a reg plate , as if yes search dvla records ,then if ya buy it you can apply for a v5 , an wait n see if police come n confiscate it ,if not its yours , bit of a gamble ,how lucky do ya feel, H

You came to the right conclusion.. I cant think of many legit reasons why a scooter has no frame or engine number and (presumably) no V5 or reg plate!

You presumed right , no papers no log book or anything just a receipt , he says he has had it for years and bought it legit but anybody can spin a yarn when money's involved
