Hello. I have a cutdown PX200, this has a central petrol tank fitted also so a standard ish seat will not fit. I am looking for a particluar look with the seat, lower profile but comfort. I currently have a SIP style race seat which is very uncomfy on the old arse. Has anybody got any experience in making their own seats, if so any pointers please? Or a recommend for someone who makes custom seats? Not mad money though.
Cheers in advance

Change the pad out for a gel pad. They've a great reputation, and I've seen custom bikes with thinner seats than a SIP and supposedly comfortable as hell

as sbwnik says , my sprint bikes saddle i made was a pushbike gel seat from lidl ,bout 5 quid ,an as i go to "run what ya brung" deals ive covered hundreds of miles on it in comfy-bum style , as for makin ya own , get closed cell foam or its permanent wet-bum piles, local yacht/boat/caravan fitters use it for there cushions , an if going leather get stuff thats meant for outdoor stuff ,or you'll get spue problems ,google it as its too long to explain now/here , ive made a couple of scoot seats an more bike/custom ones so any questions in particular message us , but no i wont build you one for less than silly money , as with the time/expertise/materials needed the prices arent that daft .H

I swapped the cheap flimsy foam in my replica stock rally seat for thicker, more dense stuff, suitable for long sitting periods, from the local haberdashery. He cut it to size, using my old foam as a template. About £15. Its only now after 18k+ miles of sitting on it im beginning to think of re- packing it. Ive never used one but i did also look into the gel seats. You can also get thin ones that act as a topper too, which could possibly be slipped in between the cover. Are you able to pull your seat apart and re-pack it with something more comfortable?

vespaco, unfortunately not. The pad itself is so thin. I like the sound of the gel pads though so may be looking into those if I can find any down here in Devon..

the sip pads are pretty thin , probably best trawling e bay for a suitable sized gel-pad an then looking local for a trimmer/upholsterer or even caravan/yacht fitter an get them to re-stitch,convert what youve got , H
