Hi guys, I've got a question. I don't know whether this is normal but its a real pain in the ar#e. When my px125 isn't running, but I try to move it the rear wheel seems to lock up. Just today I pulled up outside my house, turned the engine off, put the bike on its stand, open the garage door and then proceeded to push it backwards into the garage. But suddenly it seems like the rear wheel locks up. The only way to release it is to start the engine again.
Is this normal??? Its a pain in the ar#e & can be abit if a struggle in certain positions.

that aint usual , less youve left it in gear , then answers find neutral , without engine turning it can be hard to get neutral , if its happening in neutral thats a problem ,but i'm guessin your use to cars ,the sticks in neutral so so is the box,it aint so with scoots , sometimes youve got to slip the clutch/half out on the lever as you move the gear selecter an then it will move thru the ratios , an when in neutral roll easy , if that aint the case dont ride it ,as a box lockin up on the move aint funny , i know , 10 years n countin an i still cant see the "funny side" , but am sure its just not being in neutral for you ,scoots ya got to love em ,as they break ya heart/arse/bank , thats the rules , H

Yeh not normal!? Or it could be normal if you are 'just' edging it, almost into gear. If so you may just need some gear cable adjustment. The dots on the handlebar dont always mean a lot, as above. If its not that simple then it could be mechanical? Does the flywheel move, or try to move when you try to push it? Can you push it back or forward? Check the oil in tbe gearbox too

If you're pushing on the bars, it could be knocked into gear quite easily. Other than that, it could be the brakes binding slightly

I always put it into neautral, however I might accidently put it into gear while pushing it. It makes sense that it might be sliping into gear. Next time it happens I'll double check that its not in gear & if it is by pulling the clutch in it should become free. (I'm sure i've tried pulling in the clutch but it hasn't helped)
Thanks for your input though.

I agree with nick it sounds like the brakes are binding... check the rear brake lever has plenty of free play back and forth as they can stick when dirt gets into the pivot

when engine isnt running getting it into gear when you dont want it there is easy and without knowing youve put it into gear even easier till you push it getting it out is an ass as it tends to jump past neutral so your always hitting first and second. if your un sure try kick it over it wont kick if its in gear

as sbwnik n shaunpx says ,if brakes are slightly binding rolling backwards will cause shoes to grab the drum=lock up, my moneys still on in gear , H
