Hi Guys...wondering if anyone can help me....Trying to get a new rear brake shoe pivot post for a PX125e. The old one came out when I removed the old shoes as it was rusted solid onto the shoe and totally unusable....Have tried Beedspeed, Chiselspeed, sip, e-bay etc but no-one seems to stock this part. Would anyone have any advice on how to attain this elusive part...or will I have to try and get one made up? Have attached a foto (not from actual scoot) to indicate what part I mean... but it's the part the rear brake shoe slides onto.

Last time this happened to me I made one on a lathe. Worked fine for years! ps. you know the picture is a front brake

Thanks Guys, Stevie...tried Allstyles website...no luck..but will phone them tommorow...if no joy will go with PXguru suggestion (just need to locate a lathe and someone to operate it though haha).

The pivot pin on my rally cases measures at 10mm diameter but aint necessarily the same as yours! You may even be able to 'stick' a M10 bolt (with a smooth shank for the pivot point) into the hole, chop the head off and use that!? Ive not done it myself, just a thought and im making it up as i go along. Bugger! No circlip groove! How about the pin from a castor wheel that can be found on household furniture!? Your chair may end up wonky but its all for a good cause Or could you fit/adapt a Lammy one??? Oh sod it...my ideas are not so good……. If you cant buy one get one made!! Or find an extremely cheap set of cases!

Hey vespasco.....you gave me some inspiration.....went into work last night and thought mmmm 10mm....what can I find. Low and behold I came acros this little beauty It's actually a steel hinge pin from a fork lift battery door that was not being used(ahem), bang on 10mm (checked with micrometer) wide and even has chamfered ends, will just need cut to length and a bit or dremelling (for circlip) and job done....Thanks for everyone's input....Cheers MBB

Ive never seen a set a cases without them in either! I'd hate to try and get one out!! Do check your brake pads actually fit onto that 10mm pin before you go too far! Im not even sure if there is a 10mm hole in the cases!!? Is there a way to reuse the old one or is it absolutely, totally rusted? (Take a dremel to the pads to get them off)

Checked hole on casings and it is 10mm, all I need to do is adjust length of my pin. 30mm of pin sits inside the casing with 20mm (approx) on outside (will measure other pivot that is still there for accuracy at weekend when got more time, 12 hour night-shifts this week....groan).
Old pin was totally rusted onto old brake shoe, scoot had been sitting outside, exposed to the elements for 20 years (89 plate) unloved (see bottom pic on my Intro post). The only way I could get shoe off was taking pin with it (no dremel in they days, I've had scoot for couple of years, now got time for project since my kids have fled the nest).
Anyway tried it with new brake shoes and fits perfectly as well, will cut n fit at weekend and let you know result, nothing to lose since can't locate part anywhere anyway lol.

i think i'd give the new pin a blob of bearing locker when fitting it ,just to make sure it stays put , an i'm another 1 who didnt think ya could take em out at all , H

It think its a matter of never needing to change them for most of us. They obviously went in during assembly and arent welded , so can come out...but whos ever tried/needed to? Apart from miky and guru...and the Romans...and the next poster?!? Good luck cutting that pin
