You’ll probably only get a SR2 now anyway, unless it’s old stock. You don't want an old one anyway. I had thought it was just the springs that were different, but I had a check before answering, and it seems SIP are saying that it is a bit uprated. Draw your own conclusions; I’ll just paste what they say: The SIP ROAD 2.0: Wow! Who would ever have thought it possible? Our very-own exhaust guru-David, has taken on the SIP Road as a project and made the almost unthinkable a reality. He has actually managed to improve the near-perfect existing version of our extremely popular exhaust unit. The SIP Road 2.0 now also possesses the elegant feature of not only being able to be fixed with a traditional exhaust clamp, but additionally a spring-fixing system can also be used to avoid damaging the more delicate exhaust-stub outlets of race cylinders. The potentially attainable power output of the pipe has been noticeably increased across the entire rev-range with the version produced for the 125cc cylinder types also providing a welcome extra boost at the top end of the power band. The exhaust meant for the 200cc class of cylinders produces 2 PS more power between 4500 and 6000 rpm than its predecessor. Although the original SIP Road already possessed adequate amounts of front wheel lightener we were also able to improve and increase the available torque, with more flexibility in the low and mid range performance.

I'll let you know when I get my Mk2 towards the end of the week. Rumour has it that the 3 will be launched shortly, but that's all I know.

I really like my Sip mk1. And. Was well impressed with the standard looking exhaust Ill keep it until it breaks. Then will look forward to the extra power of the mkll. (or the mklll version which might be out by the time I rebuild my Engine)! Haha
Edit; Crikey! I was actually joking about the mklll!!

put a road 2 on mates px200 an he's well chuffed ,wanted the chrome 1 which is louder/tinnyer ,but can pop up in 1st n 2nd with a gud handful, so if neighbours are a concern go with the black 1 , allstyles wont stock the chrome as it dont last n punters complain, stick a couple of coats of b&q's finest barby paint on first ,an it will last longer . what ya doing with the pinasco ,might match to the malossi barrel i got given last week , sod my neighbours ive already either deafened em or driven the sensitive to move/go insane , H

Also the twin pipe could be a pain if you need to change the rear wheel. Or did SIP think of that already and make it detachable?!

like the look guys but practicality on rear wheel change and even spare wheel will be more headaches I can do without. Standard black one me thinks!!! I can't bloody wait!

i dont like the look of twin pipe 1 aswell , an could knock the power down a nadge compared to shorter tailpipe original, tho 2 pipes= greater surface area might increase it but doubt it, dont forget ya got to check ya jetting when changing pipes ,you might have to down jet for a sip from a pinasco, make a note of ya jet sizes n post it on here ,prob a guy running same kit will be able to guide ya , will check new/secondhand prices on pinasco an pm ya , but dont hang out the bunting just yet as its for a long term project i'm gettin bits ready for as an when i find em cheap, might be able to do a deal on clutch/work, shame its such a tidy rust free scoot as free welding bartered for bits/pints is a speciallity of mine , H

Are the chrome ones any different other then the looks, I.e less performance or louder?
I've always found that the chrome exhuast last longer then painted ones?

much louder n tinnier sound as they dont have internal packing as the chroming would destroy it , an my comments on chrome not lasting are based on local reliable scoot shop not stocking em as punters where back complaining after 6 months of rust, prob from scratches/stone chip damage as no chrome will take where they are for long , mates chromy 1 is still ok tho 5 months on, an he never washes scoot, lives by sea in salty air ,an ya can always paint em when chrome goes, as for performance there the same far as i know, H

I don't know any shops that will stock them, though most will happily order them.
Same reason.
