Just had bike MOT'd and since then it cuts out when idling. is there any reason why the MOT station would have lowered the tick over as i wasnt informed by them that they did this but has only started doing it since.

86 won't be a cat, and won't be emission tested either.

I doubt if they even took the side panels off as these days they are only supposed to do that with your permission on an MOT!!! I must admit to always waiting/watching so I can answer any queries/questions the tester has. Probably you have just had an unrelated 'problem' that occurred then and the two appear linked. S*d's Law in action!!!!!

Hi I will turn up the idle speed and see how it goes if this cures the problem then hey ho but if not will have to look further. hoping to get a Malossi kit fitted and left side exhaust in the next week or so, so if there is an issue then hopefully i can get it sorted at the same time.

i no longer rate the molossi especialy if your scoot is for every day use. get a dr kit the molossi rattles like a bag of spanners you can hear it over the exhaust tone it is a powerful head 3rd and 4th gear turn it into a rocket with the right jetting.stick with the right hand pipe left hand blocks work to the rear wheel and has to be removed if you need to remove the wheel. even simple task like putting air in the tyre is a paint with a lefty. if you dont mind this then go for it just thought id share a couple of downsides before you decide and buy

Wow that has now thrown a spanner in the works have only had good reviews on the Malossi so far. the reason for fitting the kit is to give me better dual carriageway and incline performance as i carry a little more than my original birth weight!!! The left hand exhaust was only considered as i dont carry a spare wheel under the side panel and it looks a little bare. will now have to go back to the drawing board. Any ideas on the cost of the DR kit as have been quoted £300 - £350 for malossi, exhaust and fitting etc etc.

Polini in that case, it's a great mile muncher, as opposed to the Malossi race bike feel, and they are indestructable. If someone else is doing the work, get them to follow the porting instructions to the letter, add a P2 carb, upgear kit and something like a SIP Road. Then wave at P200s as you pass them... Alternatively, leave the gearing standard and it'll be very nippy but will top out around 60

Hi Nik, i take it that is the 177 kit? are these reliable as that is also very important as dont want to be stuck out in the middle of nowhere!!! Also i have around £375 to spend at the moment, any idea on the cost of this without the up gearing?
