Thinking of changing the rims and tyre's on the Vespa, are Sip Tubless Rims worth going that wee bit extra for and which tyre's would be best to go for?

I love my SIP rims, apart from the safety factor they improve the handling (less unsprung weight = less work for the suspension to keep the wheels on the road) which in turn improves the braking.
Tyres are a matter of taste, what you use the scooter for, and when you ride. I use Heidenau K58 m&s, they're really a bad weather/snow tyre, but they're soft enough for general use, and have a good low sidewall so you can throw them about. They're also quite expensive though, and if you only ride in the sun around town, they'd be wasted.

put sip rims on my better halfs cosa an there lovely ,look absolutely the dogs jewels , weve put conti-moves tyres on as it will be ridden through winter an there a good all weather tyre ,they wear quite fast tho as a soft compound but are cheaper than nics heidanue's , bout 30-34 if ya shop around , conti-twists are gud too at about 30 quid a pop. if ya get sips ,youve got to get the px specific types as the wider cosa' ones only fit with a lot of work done on engine mounts an clutch cover . an get a decent tyre fitter with the right tools/experience to fit them if not putting tyres on yaself .if ya fancy the job yourself dont believe the scare storys about it being really hard ,get sum rim protecters from e bay bout a fiver an warm the tyre up with a hair dryer for 10 mins an blag a bit of tyre soap from local "kwikfit" ,thanks paddy i aint forgot i owe ya a pint for it an other favours,or use fairy liquid ,watch the sip video ,no laughing at his hilarious accent ,an they slip on easy ,the tyres that is not ya slippers . See the photo in the other thread marked "Weaving" as to why washing up liquid can be a bit of a bu**er re corrosion to SIP's

dont be tempted to get big/long levers , 6" ones are best ,longer jus make it easier to damage the rim , H
