agree with nic ,bgm, vespatronic if ya can find a original 1 an afford it . the new cdi's are rev limited at if memory serves 7000rpm ,with the kit you have thats about 1/2 the way through your power band ,an any new px cdi ducatti/budget are limited ,you need a pre 2003 1 ,an in IMO its rarely worth paying the extra for ducatti stuff over budget, with cdi's anyway, ive never noticed a big difference in reliability or longevity between them .def not enuff to justify the double money for ducatti , it always gets a laugh when i mention to mates with italian bikes/cars that scooterists rate italian electronics , i use LML stators an cdi's , an there as good as piaggio if not better as half the price , with the money saved you could invest in a programmable advance/retard module to piggyback ya cdi.theres a couple on the market around 65-95 quid ,depending on make n fancyness, there was a bit in a recent scootering comparing them, will look it up an tell ya which month. because if ya go bog-standard vespatronic/bgm you will still have a basic advance/retard curve in your cdi for a standard engine, with the only adjustment being its static timing point, 18-21 btdc, with a mappable cdi you can still time for easyer starting an vary the curve to make the most of your kits power band. to do it exactly/properly would need a dyno session ,but if i remember right the kits come with pre-programmed curves,an 1 is designed for your kind of kit/tune. an you seem from ya posts an engine build like youve got tuneittis pretty bad,so might be worth investing in the higher end module as it will have room for future improvements ,an tuning never ends you just run out of cash , H
