I wash mine about three or four times a year - mainly during winter to keep salt off, and then just before it's MOT. Paint is there for a reason!

when I start to notice it looks dirty does me , probably a few times a year .....give the engine a good squirt with Car pride de-greaser every now and then , grease/oil flies off .....as for waxoyl etc, when my frame was stripped for repaint I did underneath & in the frame & under front mudguard with hammerite , although a good squirt with ACF50 in and under the frame would probably work as well.

Car shampoo and wax. washing approx 2-3 times per month. Waxing 2 times per year. Hardly ever power washer because Piaggio says no. I've noticed that steering bearings are not sealed.

Autoglym and Sonax are my favourite brands. Usually I choose a bottle which suit for my needs. PX might need some kind of cleaner wax.

waxoyl is good for inside box sections ,so long as its put on warm an spread well ,an any drain holes are cleared afterwards ,wouldnt use it on inside side panels unless there totally fresh unmarked paint as it will seal any rust in to do its dirty work unseen .on inside panels i use synthetic cellulose enamel as close to the body colour as possible(original its body colour paint just not cut back n polished like on top)its sprayable an brushable ,gives a shine right out of gun an shows not hides any developing rust.i never use a power washer unless its a stripped frame in for work/welding/painting ,then just to blow old loose dirt/paint/underseal off so i can see if it needs blasting/stripping.they blast road dirt into all ya bearings getting past seals an grommets .might aswell grease up with grinding paste . when i do wash (if it aint rained for a few weeks )just warm soapy water /brush/an sponge is all ,never washing up liquid as its got salt in it to soften the water.an if its sumting i like shiny dry with a shammy leather an whatever wax/wash halfords have on offer, simples .use to dispatch an run a bike hire company for jockeys, noticed the more oily/unwashed the bikes the more preserved the ali an rust free steel, pressure washed 1's always had shot bearings an seized bolts/nuts .an good o'l gunk in a sprayer for the engines before opening em for work/service. have seen good results from the auto glm range .surely as a ex valeter shouldnt you be telling us what the tricks of the trade are an the best pro treatments . if its a secret maybe you could come do my missus car ,i promise i wont peek .its a 1966 triumph 1200 coupe with a ford riveria blue rattle can blow over ,closest shade to the 2 litres of wedgewood blue ive not got round to proper spraying yet ,i'll do ya waxoyl n gunkin in return ,what do ya say ,cheers henri

Well tomorrow after a bacon butty and a coffee or two I will use Billberry wheel and underbody cleaner, rinse, snow foam, shampoo & dry.
I will then use meguires clay bar and lube all over to remove dead paint.
Then on to dodo juice lime prime to clean the paint, four coats of meguires Polish followed by two coats of purple haze wax.
Well that's the process for the merc so might try it out on the T5 ??

Wash down with cold water first, removes any grit from the paintwork and road salt, use an old cotton t-shirt, never a sponge dirt & grit get lodge in there and you constantly scratch your paintwork. Warm water, never boiling, fairy liquid & a splash of white vinegar. Oh and never use a pressure washer, that forces water into places it should not go. Its also not a good idea to do it in blazing hot days, water on paintwork, not good when its hot. Gary

whats the idea of putting 4 coats of polish on then 2 coats of wax?,,are you laying the polish on like a wax will be taking a machine polisher to my black px,,even though its new you can see the odd swirl mark so will use a few different grades of mop and polishing compounds and try and remove most of it then add a hard wax for the first coat and a soft wax on top give a wet look Have you used mops before, Its very easy to burn the lacquer of the paintwork, especially on new scooters. You will be lucky if its been sprayed with two coats of lacquer. Gary

yep ,the tool (polisher) is only as good as the tool holding it ,when cutting back n polishing fresh paint ,i like to think light thoughts an have a light touch ,helps that i live in brighton ,the general ambiance of the "gay capital of europe" gives me a good limp wrist an a real lightness in me loafers ,works every time.as its a new scoot with freshish paint get to ya local auto paint factors an see what products the've got to finish paintjobs,halfords/autoglym's more about reviving old/dull paint.H

never mind the salt-air rab ,it doesnt get through the seagull sh*t ,i'm starting to think its "personal",they see me with a bucket in hand an head off to the tip/bins to fill up on rotten last nights currys/kebabs/dirty nappys .by the time the scoot/bike/car is shiny there circling over head in a holding pattern arguing over who gets first go at a "bombing run".not allowed to sit in road letting of rockets/12 bores, something to do with scaring the neighbours ,an missus has confiscated my black widow catapult after last years mating/screaming fox atrocity ,tho might be able to convince "her who's word is LAW"that being seen with a 12 bore might scare of the local numbnuts circling the daughter waiting for there chance for a "bombing run". yep ,12 bore ,pipe, bib n brace overalls an a rocking chair on the front porch might work for gulls an lads, cheers henri

I don't have owner's manual for PX. Owner's manual for GTS says: "Use a low pressure water jet in order to soften the dirt and mud deposited on painted surfaces. ..."
For the engine same as you told, plus "Keep nozzle at least 60cm away from the vehicle".
