Hello there, hope everyone is having a good run up to christmas, relax its once a year. VESPA!! I got my 1984 PX125E, about 3 months ago and im loving it. after passing my cbt on a Honda not exceeding 3rd gear and not really knowing how to use them anyway it was a terrifying journey when riding my newly purchased wasp home. however in the past few months of riding ive had a great time experiencing the freedom it affords you and the frustration it forces upon you. ive had a few problems lets just say.
Anyway its great to have a place to ask questions and find answers from the people who know. cheers

just the usual to start with, clean or replace the spark plug, screw the mixture screw all the way in then screw it out one and a half turns(this gets it on average to the right spot) take the carb cover off and check the lever on the carb is operating ok when you pull the choke on, and with mine i never open the throttle when starting, just choke n when it starts, choke off n give it a rev, worth a try oh and get a haynes manual too!

That's interesting that you don't give it a few revs with the choke-out Nick. I always do, though I'm not really sure why Any reasoning behind this mate?

alright devo!, i just find that its a bit stuttery with choke on so i rev it when its off, just feels cleaner and boots all the crap out of the exhaust, just a personal thing i suppose
