hi guys, i am quite new to scooters, however I've got a 1963 vbb that am hoping to restore. i have been trying to get some advice on how to convert from 8 to 10 inch wheels. i was told that you could change the swing arm from a super?? and then change the hub to suit. am not to clued up on scooters but was hoping to give this a try. what is the best way of trying this and where is the best place to get the parts and what are all the parts required??? what is the procedure for the back wheel???
any advice appreciated.
cheers

10" on the back is done by fitting a later PX engine, at the front end you need to convert the forks to a later type to accept 10" wheels, I believe there is also a hub conversion kit to do this.
AFAIK, there is no way to convert the back wheel from 8 to 10" without changing the engine, it's to do with the brake shoe pins.
The 'Super' parts are used to do the reverse, i.e. if you already have 10" wheels and want to go back to 8", you can used Super hubs to convert it back.
There is another way however, you can fit 10" GS150 wheels to your existing hubs, they are the only wheel which will bolt right on with no mods as the GS used the same 4 bolt hubs.
Have a look at my VBA restoration thread and you will see what these look like.
I have 3 of these wheels in my loft which I didn't get around to using on the VBA, PM me if interested..
