Having had what I thought was the clutch go on my Sprint on the way back from the Isle of Wight, I've finally had the full diagnosis from Norfolk Scooter Works today. New crankshaft, new clutch, cushdrive needs repairing, the pressure pad clip went so the bronze bush in the clutch housing had nothing to press against... blah blah £545.61 incl parts, labour and VAT. But the up side is I should have it back by the weekend.

Having previously spent a fortune on repairs myself, it's empathy for me! Hopefully you'll be reet for a good while afterwards once it's all sorted though.

Cheers boys, I'm feeling the love.
The only thing I've had go wrong with it up until now was throttle cables snapping (hence the title of the thread) so fingers crossed you're right. Norfolk Scooter Works were recommended by a trusted friend so I'm not worried in that department.

There is a phrase that springs to mind that my dad always used to use, and that phrase is "All the world hates a smart arse".
I think the majority of scooterists, even if they have some limited knowledge of scooter maintenance, would rather let a professional do something as extensive as a full engine re-build. If they dont, that'll be why they break down on the way to every rally (if they even go to any), and why this is my first ever mechanical failure in thousands of miles of scooter riding.

;D If you had still been livin close by I would of helped you out! My Dad who was an engineer use to say 'look, listen and learn son' and I did, it sure does help with my scoot probs I incur from a 7 day a week 60 mile to work trip!
