I was going to boycott this game, on account of the fact that it makes even the 'Girl's Name' theme seem ridiculously tame. But, as there's clearly no adjudication going on, people are using group names instead of song titles, and Bob the Banker just seems to be putting anything down willy nilly, it seems it's high time I stepped in.
Oh yes, and I can see it as a good way of getting my 2,000th post up.
RIGHT. If Lucia's going to haphazardly start games that feasibly won't end until the 2012 Olympics, then just leave you all to it, let's get the rules straight for those newer members (and the older ones that just like winding me up).
The idea of the game is to give a SONG TITLE with a country, city, or town in it, and the artist. That means titles with US States, 'U.S', 'World' or 'Dixieland' don't count. If we allow artist's name as well, we really will be here forever, so no songs by the Detroit Spinners please, unless the title's got a place name in it.
You can have the same place name twice, you can even have the same title as long as it's a different song, but you can't list covers of the same song. Nor can you adjust the title slightly to make it sound like a place (eg White Christmas [Island] etc). And, I'm going to put my foot down or this really will go on forever - no use of the adjective, such as 'American' or 'British' etc as they aren't place names.
Is that plain enough? Good. Game on.
