Hi,i am a ET4 rider from Singapore.I have been riding my vespa for about 10 months and so far so cool, just love it. Speaking about ET4,it's actually changed its name to ET8 in Asian market.I found out the reason from internet lately, and well...it's a pretty interesting one. Reason:the pronunciation of "4" in Chinese is "Si",and it is similar to the pronunciation of the word "dead" in Chinese so those superstitious one will tried to avoid having "4" on their plate. Therefore, vespa Asia pacific decided to change the number 4 to 8.And the number "8" is pronounce as "Ba" and it's closed to "Fa".The meaning of the word "Fa" is being rich and prospered. when come to Chinese new year, people will wish each other "Gong Xi Fa Cai".The literal translation of “Gong Xi” is “to wish” and “Fa Cai” means “to prosper”. So “Gong Xi Fa Cai” means “I wish that you will be prosperous”.
