Hiya guys - this is just to say hello and to ask for a bit of advice - my scoot is an '84 Spaniard P200 - I totally rebuilt it a few years ago with fibre glass 'bubbles' and front mudguard (hankering back to my 60's GS160 days) - and after wobbling all the way to the local shops and back, it's been back in mothballs (my usual mount is a 1500cc Suzuki cruiser) - I've deciced to be brave and try again, but another problem I have now discovered is due to bad knees, I can't kick it over anymore without inflicting serious amounts of pain to myself - my question is this, I have an opportunity to buy a P125e motor with an electric start, is it a simple job to convert it to a 200cc, possibly using the bits from my 200 which are virtually new? - non abusive replies please, cheers Colin (aka 'arry)

You can't convert the engine to 200cc. Too many differences, the main one being that hte cylinder stud spacings are different (and the gearing too, but that's quite minor in comparison). I'd recommend getting a recognised tuner to stick a Polini 180 kit on it with all the porting and cutting involved, it'll be as quick as a 200.. I'll just not promise the electric boot will turn it over though
